Dangerous Goods Air Freight Forwarding from china
In compliance with regulations
When it comes to transporting hazardous materials, each mode of transportation has its own specific regulations in place to ensure the safe handling and transport of these goods. However, air transport of dangerous goods presents the highest level of risk in terms of potential harm, injury, and damage in the event of an incident. Therefore, it is imperative to adhere strictly to the only official guidance available, which is the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA), which represents major airlines worldwide, publishes the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. These regulations are based on the ICAO Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air and outline the responsibilities of all parties involved in the transportation of dangerous goods by air. This includes operators, shippers, freight agents, handling agents, couriers, and passengers.
Additional requirements
Within HUIN, our expertise lies in the safe transportation of hazardous materials via air, whether it be on cargo planes or those carrying passengers. We understand the strict compliance regulations that come with this type of transport. While air freight may offer quicker delivery times compared to sea transport, there are limitations on the volume and size of dangerous goods that can be transported due to the constraints of aircraft size. Additionally, certain hazardous materials are outright prohibited from air transport.
For air shipments, Limited Quantity regulations come into play, necessitating specific packaging requirements that must pass drop and stacking tests. This type of packaging consists of an inner package within an outer package, both of which must meet the same stringent standards as UN specification packaging. The key distinction lies in the testing process; limited quantity packaging must be able to endure a 1.2 metre drop test without any leaks, as well as a 24-hour stacking test without any breakage or leakage.
