Dry Container
You may have heard of these containers as "grocery containers" or "general containers." They are the most common type of container.
It is used to transport goods that don't need to be kept at a certain temperature, like textiles, electronics, machinery, and equipment.
The structure is usually closed on one end or side with a box door. It has an internal fixed cargo device that is clean and watertight.
Refrigerated Container
This container is used to transport goods that need to stay cold, like food, medicine, and cosmetics.
It has refrigeration equipment that can adjust the temperature to keep food fresh and quality.
Open Top Container
You can easily take off the top or load it on. This type of container is good for loading tall goods.
It can handle large machinery, construction materials, and other heavy or very heavy cargo.
Flat Rack Container
The container has no fixed side walls or top. It has a fixed bottom bracket on two sides.
It's perfect for loading really long, wide, or heavy cargo like machinery and timber.
Liquid Tank Container
This container is used to carry liquid or gaseous cargo, such as alcohol, oil, and chemicals.
It has tanks, pumps, pipelines, valves, and other facilities to ensure the safe transportation of liquid goods.
Bulk Container: This container is used to load powder, granular, and other bulk goods, such as soybeans, rice, and flour.
The top has a loading port, and the bottom is shaped like a funnel or has an unloading port to make loading and unloading easier.
Car Container
This container is used to ship small cars. It has no sidewalls. It only has a frame and a bottom.
The car in the box is prevented from sliding thanks to lashing equipment and non-slip steel plates.
Animal Container
This container is used to ship live animals like chickens, ducks, pigs, and cows.
It has ventilation, feeding, and sweeping ports to keep animals comfortable and safe during transportation.
Special Purpose Containers
These include:
- Containers with ventilation for items that need air circulation but not refrigeration
- Containers with insulation for items that need to stay cold
- Containers with handles for clothing
These different types of containers have their own characteristics and uses. This makes them useful for different types and characteristics of cargo transportation. When choosing a container, you need to think about the type of goods, their size, weight, and how they will be transported. There are other things to consider as well.
